Maritime Services Corporation was founded in 1986 as a ship interior joiner contractor. Started by four partners, George Selfridge, Dianna Thomas (now retired), Charlie Capovilla, and Jake Kline. Don Helt joined shortly after as a fifth partner and Vice President. The company was incorporated in October of 1986. Maritime Services Corporation was recognized by Inc. Magazine two separate years as one of the country's 500 fastest growing, privately held businesses.
Initially the company produced millwork and installation services for the cruise ship industry, adding fishing vessels and ferries to the list of clientele in short order. The customer base continually expanded and now includes ship owners and operators from all sectors of the maritime industry including cruise ships, tankers, tugs, offshore accommodations, fishing vessels, research vessels, ferries, military ships and gaming vessels worldwide.
Products and services now include complete ship interior outfitting, case work and mill work manufacturing, distribution of the complete Norac AS joiner and wet space products, marine interior design, full marine electrical packages, materials only packages (wholesale sales), MML USA marine doors and windows, and the import and distribution of numerous marine product lines from Europe and elsewhere. |

Maritime has been able to increase its customer base by being more concerned with reputation than with the "bottom line". That reputation is due, to a great degree, to Maritime's flexible approach to project management and execution.
Maritime Services Corporation's main facility is located in Hood River, Oregon, on a 3.5 acre plot. Operations in Hood River consist of 40,000 square feet of production shops, 10,000 square feet of warehouse space for the Maritime in stock/quick ship program, estimating, engineering, design, management and administrative offices. Also in Hood River, Maritime leases a 22,000 square foot building used for production and storage for larger projects. Preliminary drawings for an additional 7,200 square feet building have been submitted for review and a building permit has been issued. The additional space will increase Maritime's metal fabrication facility to 24,000 square feet. In addition Maritime Services has offices in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Seattle, Washington, Cedar Lake, Indiana, New Braunfels, Texas, Southampton, United Kingdom, Brisbane, Australia and Monfalcone, Italy.
